Causes Of Gout
Gout is caused by uric acid crystals forming around the joints and tendons brought about by high levels of uric acid in the blood. Uric acid is a by-product of purines, which are flushed out of the body through our urine. Gout is primarily caused by foods and lifestyle choices that contribute to the buildup of uric acid in the bloodstream.

Our kidneys are responsible for filtering our system and flushing harmful toxins and chemicals. When uric acid levels in our blood becomes so high that our kidneys cannot flush it all out, lumps of the acid begins to be deposited to the joints, and it may even cause kidney stone formation.

- Dehydration – Fluids play a vital role in our system, it transports vitamins, lubricates joints and eyeballs as well as helps the kidney flush out toxins including uric acid. If you are dehydrated the kidneys will have difficulty in doing its function. Dehydration could be caused by alcohol, less water intake, excessive sweating, diarrhea and other factors.
These are some of the factors that could lead to high levels of uric acid and eventually cause gout. And of course another great factor is our diet, avoiding purine-rich foods is one way to lessen the risk having gout attacks.
